The Olympus U-SC3 is the standard swing-out condenser for the Olympus BX series upright microscope platform. The swing-out mechanism allows the condenser’s top lens element to be flipped out of the optical path when using low-magnification objectives (typically 1.25× to 4×), providing the wide illumination cone needed to fill the large field of view at low power — then swung back into position for 10× and above, where the full NA 0.90 delivers the bright, high-contrast Köhler illumination required for detailed observation and imaging. This eliminates the workflow interruption of manually removing and replacing a fixed condenser when switching between scanning and high-power objectives, making the U-SC3 the practical choice for clinical, pathology, and research labs that routinely work across the full magnification range.
