Olympus U-POT Transmitted Light Polarizer

The Olympus U-POT is an essential optical accessory for transmitted light polarization microscopy. It installs in the 45 mm light well beneath the condenser, providing the lower polarizing element required for observing birefringent materials, crystalline structures, and optical properties in geological samples, materials, and biological specimens. The drop-in design allows quick insertion and removal without tools, enabling fast switching between polarized light and standard brightfield observation. When paired with the U-ANT analyzer above the objective, the U-POT creates a complete crossed-polarizer system for birefringence observation, mineral identification, and materials characterization.
