The Olympus U-PO is a slider-type transmitted light polarizer for the BX series microscopes. It slides into the optical path below the condenser to serve as the lower polarizing element for polarized light microscopy. The slider mechanism allows quick and smooth insertion and removal, enabling fast switching between polarized light and standard brightfield observation. The precision polarizing filter provides a high extinction ratio for accurate birefringence observation and materials characterization. When paired with a compatible analyzer above the objective, the U-PO creates a complete crossed-polarizer system.
