Olympus U-DIC10 DIC Nomarski Prism for U-UCD8 Universal Condenser

The Olympus U-DIC10 is a transmitted light Nomarski DIC prism specifically matched to 10x objectives for use in the Olympus U-UCD8 Universal Condenser. In DIC microscopy, the condenser prism must be precisely matched to the objective magnification and NA to produce the correct wavefront shear for optimal contrast — the U-DIC10 is the correct prism for 10x objectives in this condenser system. When paired with the appropriate objective-side DIC slider and polarizers, the U-DIC10 enables full transmitted light DIC imaging at low magnification, producing pseudo-three-dimensional contrast across a wide field of view. This is particularly valuable for tissue architecture survey, embryo and organoid imaging, and any application where DIC contrast is needed at the lowest magnification before stepping up to higher power objectives. The U-UCD8 Universal Condenser accepts a full range of DIC prisms for different objective magnifications, and the U-DIC10 is the low-magnification entry point in this set.
