Olympus U-D6RES 6 Place Coded Nosepiece

The Olympus U-D6RES is a 6-position coded revolving nosepiece for the Olympus BX43, BX53, and BX63 upright research microscopes. The coded (encoded) design means the nosepiece electronically communicates the currently active objective position to the microscope body and control software — enabling the system to automatically apply the correct parfocal offset, scale bar calibration, and imaging parameters for each objective without manual input. This is essential for motorized and automated BX63 configurations, and provides useful position feedback on BX43 and BX53 systems as well. With six objective positions, the U-D6RES provides ample capacity for a full range of magnifications. A dedicated slot for an analyzer or DIC prism is integrated directly into the nosepiece body, allowing a DIC analyzer or polarizer to be installed in the optical path without requiring a separate intermediate piece — streamlining DIC and polarized light microscopy workflows on BX series platforms. Built to Olympus factory specifications (catalog number U-R356), the U-D6RES delivers precise, backlash-free positioning and consistent optical alignment at every position.
