Olympus U-AN360 Rotatable Analyzer Slider

The Olympus U-AN360 is a rotatable analyzer slider for Olympus vertical illuminators, featuring a 360° rotatable analyzer in position 1 and a clear aperture accepting 32mm diameter filters in position 2. In polarized light microscopy, the analyzer is placed in the reflected or transmitted light path after the specimen, working in conjunction with the polarizer to produce polarized light contrast. The 360° rotation of the U-AN360’s analyzer allows the operator to adjust the analyzer angle to any position — enabling precise extinction angle setting, optimization of polarized light contrast for specific specimen orientations, and quantitative retardation measurements when used with compensators. The second slider position provides a clear aperture with a 32mm filter mount, allowing an additional optical element — such as a neutral density filter, color filter, or waveplate — to be inserted into the optical path independently of the analyzer. The U-AN360 installs into Olympus vertical illuminators and is compatible with BX and other Olympus series vertical illuminator systems.
