The Olympus SZ2-ILA is a transmitted light tilting mirror base for stereo microscopes with a 76mm stand diameter. It provides a simple, cost-effective transmitted light illumination solution by using a flat mirror to redirect ambient or external light upward through the specimen from below — enabling transmitted light observation of transparent and semi-transparent specimens on a stereo microscope without requiring a dedicated transmitted light illuminator or power source. The mirror tilts through a full 360°, allowing the angle of the reflected light to be adjusted to optimize illumination intensity and direction for the specimen and working environment.
