Olympus PE 2.5x Projection Eyepiece

The Olympus PE 2.5x projection eyepiece is a compensating photo eyepiece designed to relay and magnify the microscope’s intermediate image to a camera sensor via the phototube port on Olympus CX and BX series microscopes. Unlike C-mount adapters which reduce the image, the PE 2.5x increases the projected magnification by 2.5x — useful when higher on-sensor magnification is needed for small-sensor cameras or when finer specimen detail must be resolved on the camera without changing the objective. The compensating optical design corrects the residual lateral chromatic aberration introduced by the objective, ensuring that the projected image is sharp and color-accurate across the field. This eyepiece is used in conjunction with a camera adapter that accepts the PE eyepiece format.
