Olympus NFK 2.5x LD Photo Eyepiece

The Olympus NFK 2.5x LD is a compensating photo/video eyepiece from the NFK series, designed for use with Olympus BH2 upright microscopes and SZ/SZH stereo microscopes. The NFK series are projection eyepieces that relay and magnify the microscope’s intermediate image to the camera sensor via the phototube port — the 2.5x magnification factor increases the on-sensor image size relative to the native intermediate image, providing higher effective magnification for camera documentation without changing the objective. The “LD” designation indicates a compensating design optimized for use with Olympus LB (long barrel) objectives, correcting the residual lateral chromatic aberration these objectives introduce to produce sharp, color-accurate images at the camera. The NFK 2.5x LD is one of the earlier NFK eyepiece variants and is particularly associated with BH2 and SZ/SZH era systems.
