It delivers high-intensity visible light through a fiber optic cable or ringlight while filtering out infrared radiation at the source — so only cool, visible light reaches the specimen. This cold light principle is essential for heat-sensitive specimens including live biological samples, delicate materials, and precision components where heat from a conventional lamp would cause damage, drying, or thermal distortion. The LG-PS2 accepts fiber optic cables and ringlights with a standard 15mm insert diameter, making it broadly compatible with a wide range of Olympus and third-party fiber optic accessories. The 0.2mm working distance refers to the fiber bundle insert depth.
