The Olympus U-DPCAD is a dual port C-mount camera adapter that allows two cameras to be mounted simultaneously on Olympus BX, CX, and IX series microscopes. A built-in mirror slider mechanism provides two operating modes: in switched mode, the slider directs 100% of the available light to one camera port or the other — maximizing light throughput for each camera independently. In spectral separation mode, a beam-splitting element divides the emission light by wavelength, routing spectrally distinct signals to each camera simultaneously — enabling true two-channel simultaneous fluorescence acquisition without the temporal artifacts introduced by sequential filter switching. This makes the U-DPCAD particularly valuable for live cell imaging experiments where rapid or simultaneous dual-channel capture is required. The adapter accepts standard C-mount cameras at both ports and integrates directly with the existing optical path of BX, CX, and IX series microscopes.
