The Olympus DPMC0.35X is an internal 0.35x relay lens adapter designed for use with the Olympus WI-DPMC dual camera port on BX series water immersion upright microscopes. It installs internally within the WI-DPMC camera port, introducing a 0.35x magnification reduction in the camera optical path. This reduces the effective magnification at the camera sensor — producing a wider field of view on the camera image compared to the standard (1x) configuration of the WI-DPMC port. A wider field of view on the camera is advantageous for overview imaging, specimen navigation, and documentation workflows where capturing more of the specimen area in a single frame is more important than maximum on-camera magnification. The 0.35x reduction also increases the effective pixel size relative to the specimen, which can improve sensitivity and frame rate on scientific cameras in low-light fluorescence applications.
