Olympus DPMC0.25X Internal 0.25X Adapter for WI-DPMC

The Olympus DPMC0.25X is an internal 0.25x relay lens adapter designed for use with the Olympus WI-DPMC dual camera port on BX series water immersion upright microscopes. It installs internally within the WI-DPMC camera port, introducing a 0.25x magnification reduction in the camera optical path — the strongest reduction available in the DPMC internal adapter range, producing the widest possible field of view on the camera sensor. At 0.25x, the effective camera magnification is reduced to one quarter of the standard (1x) WI-DPMC configuration, capturing four times the specimen area per frame compared to the unmodified port. This maximum field of view is particularly valuable for overview imaging, specimen navigation, and wide-field documentation on BX series water immersion platforms. The larger effective pixel size at 0.25x also significantly improves camera sensitivity and frame rate — an important advantage in demanding low-light fluorescence applications such as calcium imaging, voltage imaging, and other fast or dim fluorescence experiments on electrophysiology setups.
