Olympus CX-RFA Fluorescence Illuminator

The Olympus CX-RFA is a vertical epi-fluorescence illuminator for Olympus CX series upright microscopes, adding fluorescence imaging capability to CX30, CX31, CX33, CX40, CX41, and CX43 platforms. It uses epi-fluorescence (reflected light fluorescence) illumination — excitation light from the lamp source is directed down through the objective onto the specimen, and the resulting fluorescence emission is collected back through the same objective and routed to the eyepieces or camera. This epi-illumination configuration maximizes excitation efficiency and minimizes background by using the objective itself as both the condenser and the collection lens. The CX-RFA features a 2-position filter cube turret that holds two fluorescence filter cubes simultaneously, enabling rapid manual switching between two fluorescence channels — for example, DAPI and FITC, or FITC and TRITC — without removing or exchanging cubes between observations. Compatible with the full CX series range including CX30, CX31, CX33, CX40, CX41, and CX43. This unit is in new / open box condition at a significant discount from the list price.
