Product Overview

The Olympus BX51-P is the flagship transmitted light polarizing microscope from Olympus, delivering superb performance through UIS2 infinity-corrected optics and a purpose-built polarized light optical design. This fully loaded configuration includes every major accessory required for advanced polarized light research — from routine orthoscopic observation to demanding conoscopic analysis. The U-LH100 12V 100W quartz halogen lamphouse provides bright, stable transmitted light illumination. Four strain-free POL objectives — 4x, 10x, 20x, and 40x — deliver flat-field, artifact-free imaging across the full magnification range. The U-SRP rotating ball-bearing stage with 3-point centering and 1° graduation enables precise extinction angle measurement and crystal orientation analysis. The U-CPA conoscopic intermediate piece allows direct observation of interference figures for optical axis determination and crystal system identification. The U-POC strain-free condenser with 360° rotatable polarizer and swing-out top lens, U-AN360P rotatable lockable analyzer, and U-TAD compensator adapter with U-TP530 first-order red gypsum plate complete the full analytical optical train. Six different compensators are compatible with this system for measurement of various retardation levels. The U-P4RE quadruple centerable nosepiece and U-FMP attachable mechanical stage with XY controls add precision specimen navigation. WHN 10x widefield eyepieces with crosshair reticle and scale in the right eyepiece support precise measurement and alignment. In excellent, as-new working condition, this system is ready for immediate deployment.
