Olympus BX3-URA 8 Position Fluorescence Illuminator

The Olympus BX3-URA is the manual reflected light fluorescence illuminator for the Olympus BX3 series of upright research microscopes, including the BX43, BX53, and BX63. It mounts between the microscope body and the observation head, routing excitation light from an external light source through the objective to the specimen (epi-fluorescence configuration) and collecting the resulting emission light back through the same objective for observation. The 8-position rotatable filter cube turret allows up to eight fluorescence filter cubes to be installed simultaneously, enabling rapid manual switching between fluorescence channels — DAPI, FITC, TRITC, Cy5, and others — without removing or exchanging cubes between experiments. The manual turret design provides a reliable, cost-effective alternative to motorized illuminators for workflows that do not require automated channel switching. Built to Olympus factory specifications, the BX3-URA ensures precise optical alignment and consistent fluorescence performance across all installed filter positions.
