Olympus BX-UCB Universal Controller Box for Motorized Components

The Olympus BX-UCB is the universal controller unit for motorized components on Olympus BX series upright research microscopes. It serves as the central control hub that interfaces with and coordinates the motorized accessories in an automated BX microscope system — including motorized focus drives, motorized stages, motorized nosepieces, and illumination control. The BX-UCB uses a modular board architecture that accepts interchangeable control boards to configure the unit for specific automation functions. For motorized focus control, the Z-board is installed; for autofocus operation, the AF control board is installed in its place. Only one of these boards can be installed at a time — installing both simultaneously may result in malfunction. When switching from the Z-board to the AF control board, the on-board DIP switches on the AF control board must be set to match the Z-board settings to ensure correct operation. The BX-UCB is available in two catalog configurations: U-B110 and U-B115.
