🔧 Product Description
Nikon Type N Immersion Oil (MXA22203) is the standard general-purpose immersion oil for Nikon oil immersion objectives, formulated and tested to deliver optimal optical performance across a wide range of transmitted light techniques including brightfield, darkfield, DIC, and phase contrast. The 50cc squeeze bottle format is ideal for busy labs and high-throughput environments where the 8cc bottle runs out too quickly. Nikon manufactures two immersion oil types — Type N (general purpose) and Type F (low fluorescence) — each rigorously tested against Nikon objectives to ensure matched refractive index and consistent results. Using oils from other manufacturers or mixing oil types can alter the refractive index and degrade image quality, so Nikon recommends using only their tested formulations with their objectives.
🔎 Typical Applications
- Brightfield and darkfield oil immersion microscopy
- Differential interference contrast (DIC) imaging
- Phase contrast oil immersion objectives
- Routine histology and pathology workflows
- High-throughput cell biology and microbiology imaging
