📸 Product Description

The Jenoptik ProgRes GRYPHAX Kapella Color Microscope Camera is a high-performance digital imaging system engineered for demanding microscopy applications including fluorescence imaging, live-cell observation, and dynamic specimen analysis. With a high-sensitivity Sony back-illuminated CMOS sensor and high-speed frame rates up to 120 fps, the Kapella delivers exceptional image quality and outstanding performance in low-light conditions.

The high-sensitivity Sony back-illuminated CMOS sensor with 5.86 µm pixels provides exceptional light-gathering capability and excellent dynamic range (approximately 73 dB). The large pixel size and back-illuminated design maximize quantum efficiency, making the Kapella ideal for fluorescence microscopy and other low-light applications where signal-to-noise ratio is critical. The 1/1.2" sensor format provides an optimal balance between sensitivity and field of view.

High-speed imaging capability enables capture of fast biological processes and moving specimens with frame rates up to 120 frames per second in Full HD resolution. This performance is essential for observing dynamic cellular events, tracking moving organisms, monitoring rapid physiological changes, and capturing transient phenomena that would be missed with slower cameras. The high frame rate also ensures smooth, responsive live viewing for teaching and demonstration applications.

Global shutter technology eliminates motion artifacts and rolling shutter distortion, ensuring accurate representation of moving specimens. Unlike rolling shutter sensors that can introduce geometric distortion with fast-moving subjects, the global shutter captures the entire frame simultaneously, providing distortion-free images essential for quantitative analysis and accurate documentation of dynamic processes.

Universal C-mount compatibility enables easy integration with most modern microscopes. The standard C-mount interface allows the Kapella to connect to microscopes from leading manufacturers including Olympus, Nikon, Zeiss, Leica, Mitutoyo, and Keyence. This versatility makes the camera suitable for upgrading existing microscope systems or integrating into new microscopy setups across diverse laboratory environments.

GRYPHAX imaging software provides a comprehensive suite of professional tools for image acquisition, measurement, and analysis. The included software features live measurement tools, time-lapse imaging, extended depth-of-field processing, panorama stitching, and image annotation capabilities. These powerful features enable efficient workflows for documentation, quantitative analysis, and presentation of microscopy results in research and clinical applications.

The USB 3.0 interface ensures fast data transfer and responsive live viewing, enabling efficient workflows in busy research laboratories. The combination of high sensitivity, high speed, and global shutter makes the Kapella particularly well-suited for fluorescence microscopy, live-cell imaging, and applications requiring both excellent low-light performance and the ability to capture fast events.

Precision German engineering by Jenoptik ensures reliable performance and consistent image quality. The robust construction and high-quality components provide the durability required for demanding research, clinical, and industrial environments where accurate documentation and reproducible results are essential.
