Olympus U-GAN Gout Kit and U-POT Polarizer

This set combines the Olympus U-GAN gout kit slider (analyzer + first-order red wave plate) with the U-POT transmitted light polarizer, providing a complete compensated polarized light microscopy configuration for gout and crystal arthropathy analysis. The U-POT drop-in polarizer installs below the condenser as the lower polarizing element, while the U-GAN slider provides the upper analyzer and first-order red compensator plate. Together they enable color-coded crystal identification: monosodium urate crystals (gout) appear yellow when parallel to the slow axis and blue when perpendicular, while calcium pyrophosphate crystals (pseudogout) show the opposite pattern. This is the clinical standard for crystal arthropathy diagnosis in rheumatology and pathology laboratories.
