Product Overview

The Olympus U-ANT is the upper polarizing element for transmitted light polarization microscopy, installed in the optical path above the objective turret. The rotatable design allows 360° adjustment, enabling crossed-polarizer configuration (90° to the lower polarizer) for birefringence observation, as well as extinction angle measurements for mineral identification and crystal orientation determination. The precision polarizing filter provides a high extinction ratio and uniform polarization across the field. When paired with the U-POT polarizer below the condenser, the U-ANT creates a complete polarization microscopy system for observing birefringence, pleochroism, interference figures, and other diagnostic optical properties.
