🔧 Product Description
The Olympus BX41 Brightfield, Darkfield & DIC/Nomarski Reflected and Transmitted Light Microscope is a highly versatile dual-mode research system that combines the full range of reflected light contrast techniques with transmitted light capability in a single, compact platform. The reflected light brightfield/darkfield illuminator with 12V 100W quartz halogen lamphouse and TH-4 power supply delivers bright, stable illumination across all five UM Plan FL BD objectives — 5x, 10x, 20x, 50x, and 100x — providing flat-field, high-contrast imaging from low-power survey to high-resolution surface detail. The U-DICR Nomarski prism slider, U-AN analyzer, and U-PO3 polarizer slider with locking plate enable reflected light DIC imaging that reveals surface topography, grain boundaries, thin film structures, and microelectronic features with exceptional three-dimensional contrast. Darkfield mode highlights surface defects, scratches, and particles invisible in brightfield. The transmitted light path with 6V 30W quartz halogen lamp socket and U-AC2 Abbe condenser adds brightfield transmitted light capability for biological specimens, thin sections, and transparent materials. The 5-place BD nosepiece, right-hand mechanical XY stage with stage finger, and 3-position trinocular head with C-mount complete this comprehensive system. Professionally refurbished and ready for immediate deployment.
🔎 Typical Applications
- Metallurgical analysis and grain structure examination
- Semiconductor wafer and microelectronics inspection
- Reflected light DIC for surface topography and relief imaging
- Darkfield inspection of surface defects, scratches, and particles
- Thin film and coating surface characterization
- Transmitted light brightfield for biological specimens and thin sections
